What is the Heart Button?
The Heart Button is a tool we developed that you can install on your browser and use to submit images from other sites to We Heart It. It's the only way to post images on We Heart It, because it will make sure the original site always receive the correct credit.
Installing the Heart Button to your browser
Go to http://weheartit.com/heart-button and follow the instructions to install the button on your browser.
Using the Heart Button
When you're surfing the web and you find a website with an image you like, click the bookmarklet. In a few seconds it will scan the page for images and add a pink border to the valid images.
Moving your mouse over an image will let you add tags (words that describe the image). You can add as many tags as you want, just separate them with commas like this: photography, black and white, house
Then click the button to save that image on your heart. And that's it, a new window will open to confirm the image was added to your heart. You can close that window after you get the confirmation.
The Heart Button is meant to send images from other sites to your weheartit page. If you want to heart an image on weheartit there's no need to use the button, just click on the heart icon over the image instead.
An image must be bigger than 240x200 pixels and have a valid format (jpg, gif, png). If the image is too small or has a different format you can't heart it.
After you heart/un-heart an image, sometimes it can take up to 5 minutes for it to reflect the change on your heart page. Please be patient and refresh the page.
If the Heart Button behaves erratically on a specific page, please send us a message with the link to that page and explain what the problem is.
